The semester meeting 25-27 March 2013 “Performative Spaces” is organized by Jonas Forssell, Petra Fransson, Kent Olofsson, Christina Ouzonidis and Sara Wilén. The meeting will take place from 12:00 on Monday 25th to 12:00 on Wednesday 27th in Malmö at IAC: Inter Arts Center, Bergsgatan 29 in Malmö.
During the meeting, performances, presentations, workshops and discussions will be intertwined, offering a diversity of perspectives on the theme. In order to give all participants possibilities to create their own pathway through and by their own experiences, the semester meeting will start by introductory events, and end with a joint gathering. Our supervisors are all invited to join the meeting.
Invited lecturers/presenters are Mellika Melouani Melani, theatre/opera director, Magnus Lindman, dramaturge, Susanne Rosenberg, folk singer and PhD student, Erik Rynell, theatre researcher, Stefan Östersjö, guitarist and music researcher, and more to be announced.
PhD-students and senior researchers are invited to present their own research in formats of their own choice. Deadline for submitting an interest for presentation is February 20th, by email to: sara.wilen@mhm.lu.se

Call for Presentations, Papers and Workshops
Deadline Extended to 22 January 2013

The deadline for submissions has been extended to give interested parties a bit more time to participate!
To shape the content of the ELIA Teachers’ Academy 2013, taking place 24-26 June 2013 in Utrecht and Amsterdam, we invite colleagues from ELIA member institutions from all art disciplines to consider contributing to the programme, centered on the theme “‘Preparing the Artist of Tomorrow”. From the submissions an international review panel will select approximately 20 presentations, papers, workshops and Pecha Kuchas. To develop and communicate musical knowledge. Artistic research is becoming a mature field. There is a number completed artistic PhD projects, quite a few ongoing and a several senior research projects. In this seminar the focus of the discussion will be on three topics:

1. What is the impact of artistic research in the context of musical production outside of the academical institutions?
2. How can the competence of artistic researchers become an asset in the educational institutions?
3. How can artistic knowledge be developed and communicated?

Symposium at Södertörns högskola organised by Centrum för praktisk kunskap

Friday March 8, 2013 13:00-16:30.

The symposium is free of charge but it is necessary to register with ida.soderlund@sh.se.

What is the relation between theory and practice in artistic research? How can it be investigated without reducing it to a mute representation of the theoretical process? These and other questions are addressed at this symposium among the invited speakers Maria Lantz (Konstfack), Henrik Frisk (Kungliga musikhögskolan), Barbro Smeds/Ingela Josefson (Stockholms dramatiska högskola) and a panel consisting of Maria Johansson, Sigrid Sandström, Andreas Nobel, Magnus Bärtås and Fia Fredricson Flodin.

international postdoc


The Swedish Research Council has announced grants for international postdocs. Applicants has to have obtained their PhD no longer than two years ago and 2/3 of the time as postdoc should be spent abroad. The grant covers fee and expenses during a period of maximum 36 months. The deadline is February 26, 2013.
