In the work of art the artist is only one among others

A course on the artist’s position, works and world as seen through the thinking of Michail Bachtin.

Eight lectures/seminars and the reading of Bachtin’s “Problems of Dostoevsky’s Poetics” and “Author and Hero in Aesthetic Activity”. Course leader is Andreas Gedin and other lecturers include:

  • Gunnar D. Hansson
  • Per-Arne Bodin
  • Lars Kleberg
  • Johan Öberg

Each seminar in the course is in the form of a full day symposia (13.00-19.00) at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm during eight Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters (28/9, 26/10, 16/11, 14/12, 18/1, 1/3, 5/4, 10-11/5).

The course is loosely connected to the 15th international Bachtin conference in Stockholm 2014.

HDK – The School of Design and Craft arranges an artistic seminar on aesthetics and artistic research, Thursday 14 October 16.00-20.00. PhD Maria Hellström, artist and researcher in landscape architecture at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Alnarp leads the seminar.
The seminar will take place at the Lights in Alingsås festival where the PhD-candidate Ulrika Wänström Lindh from HDK participates with a research project. After the seminar food will be served followed by a tour through the festival guided by Ulrika.
Place: Sparbankssalen at Utbildningens hus, Plangatan 43, Alingsås (a few hundred meters to the right from the train station in Alingsås) There are several trains per hour to Alingsås from the central station and the journey takes about 30 min.

1st semester meeting gothenburg 6-9 sept 2010

During 6-9 of September the first meeting for the newly formed national research school for the arts, Konstnärliga forskarskolan, was held in collaboration with the Research School of the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts in Gothenburg.

The meeting was open primarily for doctoral students and supervisors, but also for research coordinators etc at the participating schools and universities. There was in total over 70 participants from all around Sweden, who participated in the many seminars organized by the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts in Gothenburg and listened to project presentations by the PhD-students.
